What is District Collector's
Internship Programme?
How many of us haven't cursed the way our Government functions? However, how many of us have ever got an opportunity to work closely with the Government? District Collector's Internship Program(DCIP) is an effort to bring those who want to make a difference and not just be critical of how a Government system works.
District Collector's Internship Programme (DCIP) is a unique four-month-long unpaid, multidisciplinary internship offered by the District Administration, Kozhikode, to involve enterprising youngsters in tackling developmental challenges the community faces through an internship with the government system to facilitate the development of a compassionate and responsible civil society. Since 2015, the programme has provided passionate young minds with a unique opportunity to experience government machinery's functioning from within-bridging theory and practice.
Working closely with the District Collectors' office, The interns will be involved in multiple high-impact governance projects across various departments that will require them to use their skills and knowledge contextually, carrying with them invaluable experiences for their personal and professional lives. Dcip presents ample opportunities for innovation and co-creation of projects, systems and processes to transform governance and services in the district, thereby touching lives.
Through their 4 month long association with the District Administration, the interns will thus be armed with an understanding of grass-root realities and various policy and developmental issues of the state and will also find themselves developing the ability to plan and implement sustainable solutions .
In return, what awaits the interns is the opportunity to become well-rounded individuals who can think critically about issues from multiple perspectives, communicate effectively and become compassionate leaders with a commitment to public service.
